National Processing Company and Nova Libra have partnered to offer merchants an IIAS Pharmacy Point-of-Sale

Effective June 30, 2009, an Internal Revenue Services (IRS) mandate prohibits Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) debit cards from being accepted at most drug store and pharmacy retail locations without an Inventory Information Approval System (IIAS). An IIAS identifies eligible healthcare FSA/HRA purchases by comparing inventory control information such as UPC or SKU numbers against an IRS-established acceptable list. TSYS Acquiring Solutions, in partnership with Nova Libra, now provides a comprehensive IIAS solution with auto-substantiation purchase item eligibility. Building on the popular Microsoft Dynamics Retail Management System^® (RMS) software, pharmacies and drug stores have the tools necessary to ensure IRS compliance, while combining card processing, inventory, staff scheduling and financial management activities into one PC device.
